Get ready for a morning full of fun at McFarland Park. The Howl-O-Ween Dash is a family-friendly 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run benefitting the Florence-Lauderdale and Colbert County Animal Shelters. The morning kicks off with a 5K route, followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run that ensures runners, walkers, and furry friends of all ages get their chance to participate, race, and win.

Florence Arts and Museums is celebrating Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)! Join us Saturday, October 31, from 1 to 4 pm at Southall at KD for this free family-friendly, community program. Guests may come and go as they please. This event will also feature Latine Art from the Kennedy-Douglass Art Collection and complimentary hot chocolate.

Built on the idea of mixtapes as a way of getting to know someone, this concert serves as Maestro Lolley’s introduction to the Shoals. He will share a program of his all-time favorite works and invite special guests to join along the way. This performance will be on Sun, Nov 1 at 3PM at Norton Auditorium on UNA’s campus.

1 Table Florence will be on Thursday, Nov 5 from 11AM-1PM at Mobile Plaza in Downtown Florence. This is a free Thanksgiving style meal that everyone is welcome to attend.

There will be a Human Trafficking Educational Seminar on Saturday, Nov 7 from 12-1PM at Life Song Church in Sheffield. Learn what human trafficking is, how it affects our community, and how to recognize the signs, and respond. The guest speaker will be Pat McCay, founder of the North Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force. This is a part of the Zoe’s Voice Project: Turning Pain into Purpose.
