Jazz on the Lawn
There is going to be a free jazz event at Coby Hall on UNA’s Campus in honor of Interntaional Jazz Day on Thursday, April 30th from 5-7pm.
Sweet Sounds of the Shoals
Sweet Sounds of the Shoals will feature an indulgent sampling of desserts from our local restaurant and cafe community and live entertainment, including an exciting dueling piano performance featuring music made famous in Muscle Shoals and more surprises throughout the night.
Open House at KD Art Center
KD Art Center will be open late for First Friday in May! On Friday, May 1st, Florence Arts & Museums staff will be here from 5pm-7:30pm to share about upcoming events & summer camps. We are also planning some fun community projects as part of our KD at 50 Anniversary celebration!
First Fridays Florence - May
The start of Florence First Fridays is this Friday, May 1, 2026, happening from 5:30-8:30 PM in downtown Florence. There will be music, vendors, food trucks, and a kids' zone area.
Elvis Benefit Concert for St. Jude
There will be an Elvis benefit concert raising money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Downtown Haleyville on May 2nd from 6-8PM. This is a free concert but they will be collecting donations for St. Jude. Performance will be by Dawson Horn, the Tupelo Youth Competition Winner from 2025.
Shoals Christian Spring Market
Visit Shoals Christian School on May 9 for shopping, food, fun, and oldies! They are sold out with over 60 vendors perfect to shop for your favorite lady (or yourself). $3 entry for 12+, all proceeds go straight back to support Shoals Christian School.
Benefit for Austin Young
There will be a benefit for Austin Young to help support his fight against Pulmonary Fibrosis on May 9th at Joel’s Custom Paint in Muscle Shoals. There will be a bake sale, car wash, and silent auction. It will be from 9am-4pm.
Sheffield Porchfest
Presented by Visit the Shoals, Sheffield PorchFest is a free, family-friendly music festival held on the historic porches, sidewalks, and front yards of Sheffield, Alabama. For one afternoon each year, neighbors become hosts, porches become stages, and the city’s streets fill with the sound of local musicians. The 2026 Porchfest will be on May 9!
Arts Alive 2026
Arts Alive 2026 will take place in Wilson Park in downtown Florence, Alabama the weekend of May 16th & 17th. The festival hours will be Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Local, regional, and national artists will sell original works in the park. Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts will showcase a gallery exhibit in conjunction with the festival from May 16th through June 26th.
Pope's Tavern Junior Archaeology Camp
Pope's Tavern Museum, in conjunction with Project Archaeology, will host a JUNIOR ARCHAEOLOGY CAMP for students ages 10-18 during the first two weeks of June, 2026. The two-week camp will run from Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, and Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12, 2026. The camp will be divided into two groups based on age.
Lavender Festival at Oak Grove Lavender
Join Oak Grove Lavender in TN for their 3rd Annual Lavender Festival on June 6th-7th, 2026. Celebrate summer in bloom at the 3rd Annual Lavender Festival — a relaxing two-day farm experience filled with fragrance, flavor, and local charm.
Courtland's 50th Annual Picnic in the Park
The Courtland Public Library is hosting its annual Picnic in the Park on June 6th from 11AM-6PM at the historic Courtland Square. There will be live entertainment, a community pageant, games, food, and a kid’s zone!
Miss Courtland Pageant
There will be a Miss Courtland Pageant at the Annual Courtland Picnic in the Park on Saturday Jun 6, 2026. Check begins at 9:30AM, Line up is at 11:45AM, and the pageant starts at 12PM.

Spirit of Freedom Celebration 2026
The 43rd Annual Spirit of Freedom Celebration will be on Saturday, July 4th 2026 at McFarland Park. There will be food trucks, live music, fireworks, and a day full of fun by the river. Celebrate 250 years of the US with us on Independence Day!
5th Annual Autism Awareness Fundraiser
The 5th Annual Autism Awareness Fundraiser & Car Show will be on August 22 at Rogersville Recreational Park. It will be from 8am-6pm. There will be Disney characters, vendors, crafts, live music, and inflatables. This event is benefitting JM’s journey.
5th Annual Arc of the Shoals Car Show
