The soulful wordsmith Paul Thorn is headed to The Princess Theatre in Decatur, Alabama on Saturday, October 10. Day of show, doors will open at 6PM, with the performance beginning at 7PM.
Join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Oct. 11 at McFarland Park. All funds raised go to further the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. The arrival time is 1PM. The opening ceremony begins at 2PM.
The NWSCC Patriot’s Athletics Golf Tournament will be on October 16. Registration will be at 8AM, Shotgun start is at 9AM. Registration is now open.
There will be a Watercolor Workshop with Pam Burns on October 16 at 1:30PM-2:30PM at Southall at the KD Art Center. It costs $40 to attend.

Join Florence Arts and Museums for a new workshop with Painter and Educator Trevor Thomas on Saturday, October 17th from 9am-4pm at Southall at KD. Spend the day exploring the art of handmade paper and the beauty of oil painting. You will learn how to make your own paper from pulp, then use it as a one-of-a-kind surface for creating a small oil painting.

Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts will host a free Tai Chi sword workshop led by Gary Padgett on Saturday, October 17th, from 10–11am. This workshop is designed for individuals and families interested in exploring one of the oldest and most direct traditional Chinese martial arts.
Florence Arts and Museums has another Storytime on the Mound coming up on Sat, Oct. 17 from 3-3:45PM. The story is When We Gather (Ostadahlosisha): A Cherokee Tribal Feast by Andrea L. Rogers, illustrated by Madelyn Goodnight. The activity will be nature journaling. This is a free family program at ther Florence Mound Museum.
