The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art is proud to present It’s In the Water: The Musical Heritage of the Shoals, a special exhibition celebrating the rich musical legacy that has made the Shoals region internationally renowned. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 20 from 6-9PM ft. a performance by Jordan Allen Dean.

The exhibition will be on view from June 16 through August 1,2026, at the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art in Tuscumbia. The exhibition explores the people, places, stories, and cultural influences that have shaped the distinctive sound and enduring musical impact of the Shoals. Visitors will discover the creative spirit that continues to define Northwest Alabama through photography, memorabilia, and personal items from the people and families of those in the rooms where the magic happened.
