The Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts is pleased to present ๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ค ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง: ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐ฆ & ๐๐ ๐๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฒ beginning January 18th, and continuing through March 5th, 2026. This exhibition showcases the life of Reverend Hiram Kennedy Douglass through a collection of items from the Florence Arts and Museumsโ ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. While known throughout his life as Reverend Douglass, FAM staff know him affectionately as โHiram.โ Organized by guest curator, Luke Grissom, with graphics designed by Grace Ann Griffin, the exhibit follows Hiramโs life chronologically, from his youth in Florence to his early career in the ministry. All are invited to attend the opening reception that will be held ๐-๐ ๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก.
2026 marks the 50th Anniversary of the KD Art Center, which now includes three historic houses dedicated to the promotion and celebration of the arts. This exhibit launches a series of activities and events that will continue throughout the year. As the KD Art Center celebrates 50 years of service to the Florence Community, we look back with gratitude on how we came to be.
