“Celebrate Florence – Catch the Spirit!”

Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum | 5:00 PM Food & Fun | 6:00 PM Program

Mayor Andrew Betterton invites the community to the 2025 STATE OF THE CITY program on Thursday, June 12, at the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum. This year’s theme, “Celebrate Florence: Catch the Spirit!” celebrates the momentum, spirit, and shared success of the City of Florence. The program will “Celebrate Florence” and offer additional information on the current status of the City of Florence, which will coincide with interactive department displays and nonprofit organizations. 

The doors will open at 5:00 PM for the public with food trucks including Sparks Sweet Smokes BBQ, Donut NV, Nashville Hot, and Oliver Creamery as well as cornhole and outdoor games. Inside the Coliseum, there will be interactive displays hosted by City departments and local nonprofit organizations, featuring a creative, educational, and party-style atmosphere. The official program will begin at 6:00 PM and include remarks from Mayor Betterton highlighting the progress and future plans of the City.

Admission is free and open to the public. Representatives from many of our community nonprofit organizations and each department within the City of Florence will be available to answer questions and provide additional information before and after the presentation.

Attendees will have a chance to win a Renaissance Shoals giveaway, including a one-night stay at the hotel, a $200 spa voucher, and a $150 voucher for dinner at the 360 Grille. Stop by the Mayor’s table during the event to register. The winner will be announced at the end of the evening.
