The Shoals Area Labor Council will present its 106th annual Labor Day Celebration with a parade, car show, music, prize drawings and fellowship on Monday, September 1, 2025.
The day will begin at 10 a.m. with the annual parade on Main Street in downtown Tuscumbia. Registration for the car show begins at 8 a.m. and trophies and cash will be awarded at 1 p.m.
There will also be drawings for prizes, including two $1,000 drawings.
The Shoals Area Labor Council has also announced its 2025 award recipients:
• Administrative Person of the Year — Patricia Byrd, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 558 office manager for 40 years;
• Labor Person of the Year — Kenny Yarborough, Communications Workers of America Local 3911;
• Hall of Fame inductee — Ron McNatt, retired business agent for Ironworkers Local 477;
• Hall of Fame (posthumous) — Carroll "Squeaky" McClanahan, Machinists Local 65;
• Friend of Labor — Tom Heflin, local attorney;
• Friend of Labor (posthumous) — Tammy McInish, retired teacher at Central High School.
